Red-winged Black Bird & Great Egret

The Red-winged Black Bird is one of the most common birds in North America. The males can put on a show with its distinctive red shoulder. They also make a distinctive sound which makes them easy to spot and identify.

I photographed this guy at the Palo Alto Baylands on Saturday. I also photographed several shorebirds, a Great Egret and an Anna's Hummingbird. I have several pictures in my gallery.

I am very happy with the picture of the Egret, I've made a large 13x19 print and the detail is stunning.
