Eagle Falls and Emerald Bay

I got up at 3:30 this morning and drove from my hotel in Reno to Eagle Falls near South Lake Tahoe to photograph Eagle Falls and Emerald Bay (in the background to the left of the image). My timing was just right as I arrived and set up about 15 minutes before the sun came up behind the mountains. After finishing up, it took about 4 hours to return home. Looking forward to a night of sleep where I don't have to get up before 4 AM.

Technical: Canon 5D2, 24 TS-E II, f/10, 1/5s, ISO 100.

Yeah, the image looks awesome! Perfect conditions too, the one time you wish for a completely clear sky is for this shot.

Was anyone else there?

Thanks. The sky wasn't quite totally clear. Guess I'll just have to go back.

There were two other photographers there when I got there. A few more showed up after the sun came up.

So that is where you snuck off to. Very nice image. It was a real pleasure getting to know you last week. I hope to see you on a future adventure.

It looks like the sky was perfect. I was there on Monday morning and there were too many clouds for the sun to peak through and hit the falls.
