Harris Coast

Harris Coast - Alpa STC, IQ 180, 32 HR, ~f/16, 1.5s.
We arrived on the island of Harris yesterday afternoon and went out for a coastal evening shoot.  The beach reminds me a lot of the Big Sur area.  We'll be here for a couple more days with mostly coastal photography.

Silhouetted by Light

Silhouetted by Light - Alpa STC, IQ 180, Rodenstock 180mm, ~f/16, 1/15s, ISO 35
I made this image in the early morning (about 7:25am) at Deadvlei on my trip to Namibia last year.  I'm going to hang out with friends from that trip for a several days, should be a good if maybe somewhat wet time.

Valley - RX1, 35mm, f/8, 1/320s, ISO 100
Spring is approaching and is my second favorite time to visit Yosemite (winter being my favorite).  We haven't had much rain this year, so there may not be as much water flowing but if you get there on the tail of a storm, there's always beautiful clouds.

Cordillera del Paine Sunrise

Cordillera del Paine Sunrise - D810, 16-35, f/10, 1.3s, ISO 64, 5 panel stitch.
It took us a day's worth of exploring to find a good spot for sunrise the following day.  Working off a tip that this area might be good, Vincent, Zalman and I hiked out to this overlook in the afternoon and when we saw the view, knew that with some luck there would be a nice panorama at sunrise.  I was a little worried about wind in the morning and had mentally prepared myself for it, but fortunately it remained calm the entire shoot.
