The Other Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls (Oregon) - 5D3, 17 TS-E, f/5.6, 1s, ISO 100
I did a family trip to Oregon in summer 2012 and looking back found this image I made a little later in the morning after photographing the iconic Multnomah Falls.  I didn't record it so had to go by memory of approximately where we drove and am pretty sure it was Bridal Veil Falls on the way back to Portland.  I really do need to get back to that area to get my fix of waterfalls.

Rio Serrano

Rio Serrano - Leica S, 30-90 @ 44mm, f/8, 1/60s, ISO 100
Friend and photographer Greg Mitchell has been posting wonderful images from his recent trip to Patagonia which inspired me to process an image from earlier this year.  Since we booked our accommodations last minute, we ended up staying farther away from the iconic images that most photographers aim for.  We ended up staying south a couple of miles from the south entrance of the park.  The one nice part is the beautiful view of the entire area on the road to our hotel.  If you zoom into the middle third, you can see the road going towards to the mountains and the park entrance.

Old and New

London is a fascinating city of Juxtaposition between old and new.  Sadly, I only got to spend a couple of hours on a morning walk on the way back from Scotland but I'll definitely have to return and spend some time here.

Faerie Forest

Faerie Forest - Alpa STC, IQ 250, Schneider 120mm, f/11, 1/4s, ISO 100.
I made this image in Tromie Meadow in the Insh Marshes on the morning of our last day in Cairngorm National Park.  The combination of mosses, lichens and layers of budding branches with their purple and magenta gives this place an enchanted quality.  I could totally believe faeries inhabiting this meadow.

Snow

Its been snowing here in the Cairngorms for the last day or so.  This made for some excellent photography opportunities with trees yesterday and a fine way to end the trip.  Its been snowing even more this morning and here's a bunch of snow on the ground now.  I leave for the Inverness airport in about an hour, I've had a fantastic time in Scotland, but am also looking forward to getting home.
